Hopefully you have an approachable IT team, a trustworthy IT team. But whilst it’s great they are trustworthy please please don’t ever trust them, and here is why.
Your IT team should be on hand to help you when you have issues, to advise on application usage, to educate and train. But we are also here to keep your systems secure. This means we will test you.
- We will look under your keyboard for your password conveniently scribbled on a sticky note.
- We will change your desktop picture if you leave your computer signed in and unattended.
- We will send you phishing emails.
The IT team who does this should want you to pass, every time. For you never to be caught out, because we want to know how secure you are when it’s not the IT team who are the ones trying to trip you up.
