Gnoming Part 2
Went back around to the cousins place, moved a few gnomes around and made a new addition. Continue reading
Sign on the door
Life with an Author Wife can be trying. Especially when attempting to make something Grand out of the mundane. Sometimes things are just not elaborate enough… When I mentioned to my wife that I had thought of a poem to attach to the external door we mainly use as an entry, things got complicated. This sign would recommend that our guests use the main door around the corner of the house instead of the laundry door. The thing is, I had complely forgotten the poem and was trying to recall it. I was going for something short and simple, something… Continue reading
The Semi-Great
when just OK won’t do Features: 6 berth; WUP design; half span grate style standing shelf; hand-tap flush; drip-drainage; urinal cakes (optional) Welcome to an evolution in Primary Education Uninal Systems, the Semi-Great will allow for 6 occupants with it’s Walk Up and Pee design. Our patented grate styled standing shelf spans half the length of the urinal wall* reducing the amount of spatter-back “puddles” on the surrounding floor area. Our water saving hand-tap flush system eliminates water wasting false flushes that plague other auto-flush systems and reduces the wasted water generated from traditional cistern systems. The drip filtered… Continue reading
FmoF: Shock, Drop, RoFL
Five minutes of Fail: This week I’ve learned not to get electric shocks when pulling apart an iMac, not to fall down stairs when trying to save a video camera from falling off a shelf, not to let a 19 month old child pinch your arm where the bruises are appearing from the previously mentioned fall because he can’t get to sleep because he is teething and not to smash a 2.5″ SATA Hard Drive with a pair of pliers if you need to retrieve data off it later. This week I’ve failed to not get an electric shock when… Continue reading
Three Things_ I love about my Hairdresser
One. Wait time – There is nothing more frustrating than rocking up to an appointment on time only to be shown to a waiting area, normally because one of the schmucks currently sitting in front of the mirror was late to their own appointment. I have never had this problem with my Hairdresser. There is no problem if I need to cancel an appointment or reschedule, She is also obliging enough to cut my hair at a moments notice. I love my Hairdresser, just don’t tell my wife. Two. Conversation – It’s no secret that Hairdressers are right up there… Continue reading
Three Things_ I learnt from my Father last night
One. If you leave a freshly picked onion hanging through the open window of your car, when it comes time to leave, your car will smell of onion. It won’t get any better if you leave it on the dashboard for the trip home because you don’t have a plastic bag. Two. Your car has the potential to go 5km per hour faster if you clear out all the leaves caught between the windshield and hood of your car. I question the validity of this benefit. Making it possible to go 175km/h instead of 170km/h in an 80km/h zone. It’s… Continue reading
Sunday Shoutout: Thrilling Adventure Hour
I was looking for a way to fill in my hour long car journey to work in the mornings, so asked around for some podcast recommendations to pass the time. My cousin came up with pure gold. “What you need to do is download episodes of the Thrilling Adventure Hour. Go back as far as you can with the one called Sparks Nevada: Marshall on Mars ‘coz it’s a series but others like Beyond Belief are fairly episodic so you won’t feel lost coming half way through a running story.” Needless to say, I took his advise and downloaded all… Continue reading
Solving a Problem
Ok, I admit its a bit tenuous saying this is things I’m doing Thursday and posting it on Friday but bear with me. My car has an annoying safety feature. It beeps. Maybe I need to divulge further. My car has a pressure sensor in the front passenger seat which trips an alarm on the dashboard whenever the seatbelt is unfastened and the sensor detects pressure on the seat. How much weight do you think is required before I am serenaded by annoying electronic pips? The average weight of an 18 year old who is likely to forget to buckle… Continue reading
What’s on Web
Here is a bunch of stuff for you to check out this week. If you haven’t heard of a little game available on Steam called Faster Than Light then where have you been. No seriously, have you been trapped in a freezer or something? Go, check it out now, I won’t even care that you’ve left the website… Well maybe a little, so stick around for a bit longer. It’s a great space adventure game seeing you plot a course through space, upgrade your ship’s systems, manage your ships resources all while battling space pirates, drones, rebels and hostile aliens.… Continue reading
